The Anthropological Studies Center is proud to announce the successful preservation of a significant archaeological site in the heart of Nisenan territory. This achievement was made possible through the collaboration of Mark Selverston and Chris Ward from the ASC, property owner Song Kowbell, local archaeologist Hank Meals, and The Archaeological Conservancy.
Preserving archaeological sites on private property is a rare and challenging endeavor, making this accomplishment all the more rewarding. This important resource will now remain protected for generations to come, ensuring its cultural and historical significance is safeguarded long after we are gone.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Song Kowbell and everyone who contributed to this meaningful effort. Your dedication and commitment have made a lasting impact on the preservation of our shared heritage.
