MICHAEL KONZAK meets the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for both Prehistoric and Historical Archaeology. He has run projects with historic-era and Native American components for numerous state, federal, and private entities. He has authored and co-authored dozens of CEQA and Section 106 reports. Mr. Konzak has extensive experience surveying, recording, and excavating prehistoric and historic-era archaeological sites throughout California as crew, crew chief, and field director. Mr. Konzak has completed a CAL-OSHA approved 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker's Health and Safety Training program and is a FAA-certified Drone Pilot.

Mr. Konzak is also a Technology specialist with ASC, overseeing Ground Penetrating Radar Projects, UAV flights, and GIS analysis. As part of the GIS department, he creates maps and GIS projects from multiple data sources including GPS and Total Station data, CAD and engineering data, geo-referenced historic maps, raster and vector-based coverages, and other non-spatial databases. He has used GIS to perform spatial analysis, 3D modeling and geo-processing, and to produce large format display maps and graphics. He is experienced in GSSI, ESRI, and Trimble software, and in the application of GPR, UAV, GPS and Total Station equipment for mapping of archaeological features, sites, and landscapes.

Mr. Konzak has worked with CRM students in the field and office, instructing in general field and recording techniques, digital mapping with GPS and Total Station, GIS, GPR and database creation and management.
