SANDRA MASSEY KONZAK has worked with ASC as a project manager and technician for 17 years, and currently serves as coordinator of the David A. Frederickson Archaeological Collections Facility. Her experience involves many aspects of California archaeology, including excavation, survey, artifact analysis, and historical research. She has served as field director for excavations at Fort Ross State Historic Park and in downtown San Francisco, directed surveys at Pinnacles National Monument, overseen laboratory processing and cataloging of artifacts from prehistoric and historic-period sites, and has authored and co-authored numerous technical reports for ASC. Sandra has also helped to produce public interpretation products for the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. She specializes in historical archaeology, with a particular interest in the archaeology of urban development. Sandra’s M.A. work focused on the analysis of artifacts from a 19th-century household in San Francisco. She has completed the CAL-OSHA approved 40-hour Hazardous Waste Site Worker’s Health and Safety Training program with annual 8-hour refresher courses.
