Experience: Ms. Cardenas has more than 20 years of archaeological and cultural resource management experience, with expertise in projects conducted in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). She earned her master’s degree in Anthropology from California State University, Fullerton, where her archaeological research focused on prehistoric architecture and the use of household space in Southern California.
Throughout her career, Ms. Cardenas has contributed to cultural resources investigations for renewable energy, gas and electric utilities, private development, and military installations. She has worked in coordination with numerous federal, state, and Tribal agencies, including the Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Forest Service, Federal Emergency Management Agency, NASA, and the U.S. Department of Defense. Her work has been concentrated in California, Nevada, and Texas, with additional project experience in Arizona, Minnesota, Wyoming, and Colorado.
